Proposals for beam time for MeV-UED at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory will be accepted via the web-based proposal system until 4:00 p.m. PST Wednesday, November 24, 2021. This call is for experiments to run from May through September 2022.

Since 2014, the SLAC UED instrument has been developing robust methods in the pursuit of time-resolved measurements to control and understand molecular structural dynamics and the coupling of electronic and nuclear motions in a variety of material and chemical systems. Leveraging these successes and taking advantage of recent system-level improvements in machine capability and reliability, we are pleased to announce MeV-UED’s fourth External User experimental time ("Run 4") in mid to late 2022. In Run 4, the MeV-UED instrument will offer only one experimental configuration; our recently upgraded gas-phase UED setup optimized to study nuclear and molecular dynamics. (see Endstations and Specifications).

Virtual MeV-UED User Meeting will be held at 9am PST on Wednesday, October 27, 2021
A webcast meeting will be held to better inform the users about the developments at MeV-UED before the upcoming MeV-UED proposal deadline on November 24th. SLAC MeV-UED staff will inform the community about the latest capabilities and be available for Q & A. Information on how to connect can be found here.
